1 Connect & Verify Device Authenticity

Before connecting, inspect the **box seals** for any signs of tampering. Your device should be factory sealed. Use the provided USB cable to connect your device to your computer. The device screen will light up, typically showing a welcome message.

Ensure your computer is **secure** and free from malware. Only proceed when you are confident in the integrity of your operating system.

SECURITY WARNING: Do not proceed if the device screen shows anything other than the expected welcome or setup message. Immediately contact customer support if you suspect tampering.

2 Install Companion Application

The device requires a specific software application (like Trezor Suite) to communicate with your computer and manage your funds. **You must only download this software from the official manufacturer's website.**

Click the official link below, download the correct version for your operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux), and run the installer. The application will guide you through any necessary **firmware updates** for the device.

3 Backup Recovery Seed (CRITICAL STEP)

The software will prompt you to **create a new wallet**. During this process, a **Recovery Seed** (usually 12 or 24 words) will be displayed **only on your device screen**, never on the computer screen. This is the **master backup** for all your funds.

  1. **Write Down Carefully:** Use the **physical recovery card** provided in the box. Write the words down exactly in the order they appear.
  2. **NEVER Digitally Store:** Do not take a photo, screenshot, type it into a document, or email it. Digital copies are vulnerable.
  3. **Store Securely:** Store the physical card in a **fireproof, waterproof, and secure location** (e.g., a home safe or bank vault).
CRITICAL: If you lose both your device and your Recovery Seed, your funds are permanently lost. The manufacturer will **never** ask you for your Recovery Seed.

4 Set PIN and Finalize Setup

Your PIN protects your device from being used by anyone who physically gets ahold of it. You will be asked to set a PIN using a **scrambled number pad** displayed on your computer, with the corresponding numbers on your device.

PIN Best Practices:

  • Choose a **long, unique PIN** (8 digits is recommended).
  • Enter the numbers based on the layout shown **on your device screen**, not the computer screen.
  • Memorize your PIN; losing it can lock you out of daily transactions.

Once the PIN is set and confirmed, your device is fully initialized and secured. You may now safely send funds to your new wallet addresses.
